Explore Rila Mountain
Rila is a Bulgarian mountain situated in southwestern Bulgaria and in this mountain range you can enjoy the highest peak on the Balkans- Musala (2.925). Rila is the sixth highest range in the world and the name is believed to be of a Thracian origin meaning a well-watered mountain. It's also famous for the 7 lakes of Rila each with a different shape and fascinating names. I haven't been to the lakes so far but I would like to go. Yesterday I didn't manage to get that far but since it was an extremely hot day we decided to go to the mountain for some fresh and cold air. We arrived at Borovetz and went for the Yastrebets gondola lift which is for up to 6 people in it. No idea how exactly six people go in there during the winter with all the backpacks and equipment - guess it's very inly but during the summer it was very hot but still fun.
