Belgrade Day 1 - tasty meals and typical athmosphere

Image
Arrived at lunch time and got to the hotel. It was a beautiful small one, located far from the center but a 3-5 min walk to the nearest bus station from where we could get the eternal bus - number 16 seems to be going everywhere! We had lunch at Skadarska street - the party one. Most of the restaurants are located there together with night clubs and bars and the atmosphere is amazing - during the night the mood screams "party" in a traditional style - there we could enjoy the typical "pleskavitsa" and salads. In the evenings there are gypsies playing on their music instruments and drunk people trying to walk at the street - too hard since it's paved! For lunch we choose the place randomly - they just welcomed us in the middle of the street and as the tourists that we are - went to sit at the terrace. Its' called Zlatni Bokal and is at the beginning of the street. The food was nice and at similar prices compared to the other "restoran" in th

My happy time

All the time!  Every day is a gift and as soon as we can understand and feel that and live by this idea, it gets much easier and happier.  Yesterday morning I was driving. Wanted to go back home. Got the car windows down and had some nice songs on. It was already at least 26 degrees outside and I had my left arm out through the open window. Felt the wind play with my fingers and go through my hair. Saw the sun shining bright in the sky above me. Felt the fresh air outside. Sang along to the radio at the top of my voice.  Then, after one traffic light got onto the boulevard leading to my place. 2 more traffic lights and I would be home. What I saw after passing the bridge - large space to the right. It was with the greenest grass and huge trees with small benches beneath them. Imagine the shadows and how comfy it is to sit and observe  near one of the biggest boulevards under the shadow of old trees and enjoying the beautiful day. Then the flowers - all colours melting in the grass - ye

What to do in Belgrade, Serbia

First of all- definitely dedicate some spare time just to randomly walk around the city and feel the local athmosphere. Yes, I'm a person who always has a plan and who always wants to see all remarkable andpopular tourist   places just because I know I may never return and want to make sure I don't miss anything while I have the opportunity to see it or live it!  But at the same time - the sightseeings can be seen on the Internet as well as in all the popular and heavy books for tourists, the information which the guide may share, can be read in the written guides and travel advices, but it's the unique feeling and atmosphere which can't be found and read about - it has to be felt and we need to live it if we want to remember it!  What I will remember most from Belgrad is Skardalija - the party street with the pavements and amazing atmosphere - I didn't feel like a guest there because it's so cozy.... I will also remember their rakia - can be found e

My New Project: Happy Impact

I recently realized I'm not as happy as I used to be and I need a dedicated Happiness project! There are many reasons, but some of them are that I can no longer travel as much as I wanted to and I'm not sure about the reason. Maybe I'm missing the right people but the truth is that I've stopped doing it a long time ago. I realized a couple of things about myself recently: one of them is that I'm no longer happy with the "passions" I have and I feel like they're fake and don't show the real me to myself. It's like I'm living someone else's life, someone older and much more boring. And I'm not boring. Never been.  So, to start afresh a wild year full of happiness, here is my plan: every day I'm going to do at least one thing to make me happy and have an impact. These are my two conditions. And eating ice-cream or chocolate for example doesn't count! It's something I will forget about in a couple of seconds while what
