Things to do in Fourka

Fourka is a small village located on the first peninsula of Halkidiki- Kassandra. It's very nice when looking for a relaxing break and for 7 nights there I only saw one bar - open every night with no customers at around 9-10 pm so not sure if it's suitable for a wild vacation.

However it has an amazing location as it's close to the nearby beaches - within 15 kilometers you can locate the Kallitheas, Siviri and Possidi beaches which are all extremely famous!

So for 7 nights we managed to visit a total of 5 Greece beaches - we went to 1 of them - Fourka beach by foot - it was within an 8 minutes walk from the hotel we were staying at; then to Kallitheas, Siviri and Possidi by car and we also managed to visit Toroni beach thanks to our Kassandra cruise.

During one of the days the weather was not perfect so the best we could do was enjoy our time near the pool and hope that it will get better. We had mainly Greek music from the bar and the drinks were locally produced which is part of the standard All Inclusive option at most of the hotels. We stayed in a very nice hotel close to the road however it was still quiet.

The road is just behind the bushes and the houses are on the other side of it however thanks to the great way the pool area is established it wasn't noisy at all.
The path to the pool
Above is the path to the pool. The hotel is right behind the photographer, literally in the woods so in the rooms it's not as hot as at the pool area and the guests can actually sleep at night. At the left hand side the building you can see is the restaurant. The umbrellas are not open due to the bad weather - if it's too windy they close them all.

In the evening after dinner we would go to the resort center - very close with many souvenir shops and restaurants. There are 2 great tavernas located near the shore and directly overlooking the sea. As we used to dinner at the hotel, we didn't get to try them but the prices seemed affordable. At the time we were there - Summer 2015 the other Fourka guests advised that the one located on the right when facing the sea was better with fresh fish and delicious meals.
On the way to the resort center
This picture is taken facing the direction we were coming from and right behind the photographer the street continuous to the resort center. Follow it and you can't miss it!

In Fourka you can get some amazing souvenirs - they have everything - cups, bags, soaps (I personally don't like the traditional Greek soaps they sell as they get all over the sink and you can't wash them away easily and the smell of the ones I have tried is not fancy at all) clothes and shoes, jewelry and many other things you can and you can't use in the future. You can get a magnet from 1 - 2.50 Euro depending on what you prefer.

As far as I saw there wasn't a single excursions agency in the resort. There is a small sign next to one of the shops however they said that they get a rep only on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons which is not perfect but if you visit another small village nearby you can book your cruise there.
