Kamen Donev - The ruler of the Theater!

I had the great pleasure to attend Kamen Donev's performance called "Za Svatbite" (Weddings)! It was amazingly fun, fresh and full of national folklore. Had a great time during the national dances and songs which brought a unique feeling of tradition in one of the newest sports halls in Bulgaria. 

He again proved to be a spectacular performer who can easily enchant the audience and create the opportunity for everyone to find something heart-melting! One of the best things about the unique experience - a couple from the audience was welcomed on stage! 

The performance was split into different chapters and went on about how the weddings used to be arranged, how the couple would meet, how the families would negotiate the wedding and then the culmination was of course the wedding itself and all events that would happen around it. To tell the story of the typical wedding, he would tell the small story of each event from day one till the day of the wedding itself. One of those stories was about a couple that met in a different country and all the times in their life before this meeting which only proved that they were meant for each other. For example - they used to live in the same building while studying but never met. So after telling their story and how they support each other through the daily difficulties, Donev concluded by saying that he now wants to give them the opportunity to do something they wanted to but have never done until then and invited them on stage. He gave the microphone to a man who had lost his voice (what an emotion!) and he proposed to his lady! It was something like never before and I had never seen anything like that. The whole audience was quiet and the suspense was killing! It was so emotional that even if  there were still people who spared the tears, it would still touch them. An amazing moment! 

It was fantastic of Kamen Donev and the rest of the performers to do something like that and give such an opportunity to both this amazingly brave young couple and to the whole audience as we would never experience something like that if it wasn't for this event. I have never been to a public proposal and even though I wouldn't feel comfortable if it happened to me, the emotion and charge it brings are truly amazing! I believe I may never forget the moment, how I felt and how the whole hall was silent, it was an amazingly emotional experience which was shared in between everyone attending.

No need to comment on the performance level. High as expected! The national dances were brilliant and Kamen Donev took part in all of them. I can't believe his energy and many talents! Simply watching the young guys and girls on stage made me suddenly want to jump from my seat and go join them! Had this amazing urge to simply dance with them and be able to do the same as they did - looking great, smiling all the time, obviously enjoying what they were doing and also keeping the traditions, which to me is vital! 

The songs were also fantastic. The Bulgarian folklore is so rich that there are many songs for each event. What the performance gave me was not only the shivering feeling when a certain song was sang in such a good way that it makes you want to never forget how you feel, but also the desire to discover more of the folklore as it's so huge that it's out of this world! I got goose bumps when they started singing - it was due to the huge effect all components have - the words, the voices, the melody, but also the synergy in between them. 

To say it all in one sentence - the performance was a combination of songs, dances, fun stories and unique experience which can't be described, one needs to attend it, to feel it in order to be able to live it. Each of the components can make a great show by itself, however they make an even greater influence when performed together. And the best thing to do for the full experience is to enjoy it in the hall where performed. No words, pictures or videos can convey the emotion everyone had and the amazing charge that would go through you and leave you speechless and full of happiness, love and positive emotions.
