More of the WINE Tastings, please!

I do love wine -it's amazing, there are so many different types, it can be enjoyed both with a book and cheese as well as with large groups of friends and many meats delights! It can be chilled or consumed at room temperature, you can have it with or without any add-ons like Sprite/ Ice/ Water.... It's the perfect drink!

Bulgaria is one of the first great wine producers, however is not as famous as France and Italy for example. There are many typically Bulgarian styles which can only be found in specific parts of the country. Everyone who knows more about wine can confirm that the geography is one of the most important components and has a huge impact so the best thing to do at the DiVino Wine Tasting was to try typical Bulgarian Wines. Of course, many exhibitors try different varieties, including amazing combinations, but it's always great to go for the traditional wine to make sure you know what's typical.

Many of the exhibitors could offer types which are not typical for Bulgaria however, it turns out the result is stunning! For example - Riesling is a white grape variety typical for Germany and Austria however the wines I tried during the forum were also amazing! Very fresh!

What I liked about the forum the most:

  • The idea of the forum in the first place - imagine you have the option to get a ticket (which is not even expensive for such an event) and be able to visit a forum for 3 consecutive days during which you can try all the wines all the exhibitors have to offer as well as visit master classes and lectures! The idea is simply amazing - each visitor can try whatever they want and also find out more information about each winery - how they produce their wines, where the vineyards are located, for how long does each of the wines the guest tries matures and many other curious facts. It's fascinating!
  • The atmosphere - during the forum I managed to chat with a great number of other guests - at each counter there were other visitors who were already chatting to the representative or were very open for a conversation with the rest of the guests. Everyone was so friendly...We would start talking about wine, share the experience we've had so far, the best of the best that has to be tested and then would talk about other important life matters too.... Fantastic!
  • The information - each presenter would share everything you need to know! They were amazing at explaining many things such as information about the company, the wines, where you can buy them from, etc. The very best thing - I even asked some of them about the best they have tried (apart from what they were presenting of course) and they would openly recommend another winery. It was magic since usually people don't recommend their competitors, however during this whole day everyone was ready to share and openly comment. It's amazing to see it and to feel it - they were a community and not just competitors. They could say honestly how they feel about different wines, sometimes even from a completely different region which was truly amazing!
  • Opportunity to meet fellow wine lovers. Having a community would be fantastic since wine is not just a spirit, it's complex and it's so complicated... it's science!
  • The perfect level of the organisation - even if there were any issues during the time I've spent there - everything was perfect for me! It was smooth and easy - you enter, leave your coat and go up the stairs to get in the hall. There was a whole table with clean glasses. Each guest could change glasses as often as they prefer and can also rinse out their glass at each wine stand. At the corner there was a water bar and very friendly guys would offer it at all times. Need to eat some bread so that you can make the difference between the strong wines? No worries, there was bread everywhere! Amazing organisation!

In conclusion - I could only visit the forum for just one day, however next time I'm going for the whole period as it was amazingly useful for me. I was in love with the atmosphere and tasting options, all the information I could get and the rest of the guests and representatives.
