Koukounaries beach Skiathos

Image
A must-visit while in Skiathos! This is the most famous beach and on the island there are a number of signs showing the way, a lot more compared to the road to other beaches. Honestly - there is a reason for that! The first time I saw Skiathos, or even heard of it, was last year. I was on holiday at the Olympian Riviera and wanted to go in a boat trip. Of all trips, this was the most decent one. We went to Skiathos town and then to Koukounaries beach and it was love at first sight! This is why I was even considering going there this year! The beach is fantastic - it's exactly what I think about and what I imagine when dreaming of the perfect holiday. I love turquoise water, so clear that you can see your toes through it, combined with the perfect golden sand that looks like flour except that it's dreamy yellow! And this is why I did like Koukounaries. It has all that. Together with comfortable sunbeds and umbrellas that look like stolen from a secluded

Lalaria Beach Skiathos

If you are planning a trip to Skiathos, you have most probably heard about Lalaria beach. This amazing "must-see" destination which is hard to reach but worth it. I myself was very passionate about seeing it and have no regrets.       How to go there? There is a number of options as many companies offer boat tours. There are tours only to Lalaria and there are also combined trips. The combined ones seemed great to me as they give the opportunity to visit Lalaria and Tsougrias the same day so you don't have to give away two of your days for beaching, but just one. The combined trips cover both beaches, show you the caves (I have never found those interesting, honestly) and also give you the opportunity to spend time in Kastro. This is the old town where you can see the fortress and there is a beach as well. The cost is € 15-20 per person. The boats leave from the old port at 10 in the morning and return at 17-18. There are different options depending

My Corfu Fashion Picks

As the chick that I am, I wanted to look great at the seaside.  And as the human I am, I did not create the perfect summer body or anything near that, so I will share about the accessories I wore this summer.  Number 1 - hair ribbons I have of the wired ones and I totally love those! I match each with the relevant bathing suit, I have a couple of those, so that my look will always be full and stylish.  For my purple/pink bathing suit I love those ribbons particularly because I can wear them in the "rabbit ears" style, but they can also be wired around a bum or alternatively can just leave the "ears" at the back so that only a small detail of the ribbon is visible.  Coral All in coral  Number 2 - the must-have summer hat for 2k17 Almost everyone now has one of the "do not disturb" hats for this summer. From what I see, those are not new - they've been available since 2016. While exploring to get my hat, I texted a

Issos Beach, Corfu

This is one of the southern beaches of the island and was great!  If you love beach bars, this may not be your place - the bars there are not like the ones at other beaches, but the beach itself is very nice!  Fine golden sand, crystal-clear water... Exactly what I wanted - line which I used almost every day looking at my feet through the magical small waves we had.  At the place where we chose to sit, there was a small bar from which we could get drinks and food - salads, sandwiches, Aperol.... And it was nice since there was light music. The toilette was close too - just up the hill. With the locker from the outer side... :D In general, I would recommend the south beaches - no stones, the water is exactly as one would expect from a Greek island.... There are umbrellas and sunbeds - the cost for 2 beds and the umbrella is 7 euro, which I find reasonable. There is free zone too. What I really liked is that at greek beaches people usually come later

Kavos, Corfu

Welcome to the party capital of Corfu! I felt like everything is allowed here and I guess it really is.  Slowly driving into the busy main street I felt related to the funny madness around me. From all party places we could hear the music and everyone was dancing on the street. Clubs are literally next to each other and their customers are meeting at the center of the street, trying to dance in rhythm, pouring drinks and looking around trying to find the most suitable person to take home tonight.  The atmosphere is extremely vibrant and a little bit drunk. We arrived at around 1 o'clock in the evening and there were already people sitting on the sidewalks or directly on the street, holding their heads with hands or almost sleeping on someone else's shoulder.  What I found the most interesting and funny were the flirts. Girls were walking around in shorts and some of them were so decent to put bathing suit to cover the upper parts of their bodies however s

Corfu - Paradise Beach

Image
A must-do when visiting an island is the boat trip!  There are amazing full-day boat trips which give you the opportunity to go to a number of magnificent places with one trip.  One of the options we had costed 32 euros per person and included 3 stops - caves, where we could swim, a gorgeous beach where we would have BBQ party with enough food, drinks and wine for everyone and the third stop was a town.  What we chose however, was a relatively shorter boat trip which costed 20 euro and covered the caves nearby and the visit to the Paradise beach. There are a number of opinions. Before leaving a saw a review saying that it's not worth it - for less money tourists can visit another beach nearby which was even better. However when the opportunity presented itself, we took it and I have absolutely no regrets!  So we leave with the boat from Paleokastritsa. Our first stop are the caves. Honestly, I don't find anything impressive in this so would be disappo

Corfu - things to do

I had only one week there and 10/10 would return! It's an amazing place so I would always recommend it for your next summer holiday!  Here are the places I visited and I would go back if I can. I'm only adding them as touchpoints, let me know if you have questions.  Boat trip  A must-do when you’re at an island – they have amazing options which allow you to go and see a beach which cannot be reached from the mainland – only from the sea. I managed to see the Paradise beach thanks to such a trip.  Achilion - Sisi's palace I did like it even though my partner said that it was not a "real palace" but built just for the desires of some chick. However I did fancy walking around the beautiful rooms and trying to imagine what her life was like back then.  They have audio guides in a number of languages. They even had Bulgarian which is not very common so was pleasant. The audio guide itself is useful but at some points it can get boring.

Corfu - tips and tricks in short

It's an amazingly beautiful island and I totally love my vacation there!  When planning my amazing time though I believe I've made a couple of small mistakes which I want to share with you so that you can avoid those and have the bestest time there!  Those amazing views is what I dream for First - accommodation  I booked a hotel in Notos which was an amazing deal, since the description said it was close to a beach and had great breakfast. Which is all true. And adding the high rating and the amazing price we got, there were no second thoughts. I was looking for a relaxing holiday - going early to the beach and then back to bed early so not a party vacation (even though we went to Kavos one of our nights - I can't wait to share about this one as well) Pros: we were relatively close to some amazing sandy beaches.  Cons: we were very far from the main touristic sights - Paleokastritsa was approximately an hour and a half away, Canal D'Amour was 2 h
