Corfu - things to do
I had only one week
there and 10/10 would return! It's an amazing place so I would always recommend
it for your next summer holiday!
Here are the places I visited
and I would go back if I can. I'm only adding them as touchpoints, let me know
if you have questions.
Boat trip
A must-do when you’re at an island – they have amazing options which
allow you to go and see a beach which cannot be reached from the mainland –
only from the sea. I managed to see the Paradise beach thanks to such a trip.
Achilion - Sisi's palace
I did like it even
though my partner said that it was not a "real palace" but built just
for the desires of some chick. However I did fancy walking around the beautiful
rooms and trying to imagine what her life was like back then.
They have audio guides
in a number of languages. They even had Bulgarian which is not very common so
was pleasant. The audio guide itself is useful but at some points it can get
boring.
Canal D'Amour
At sunset the small
beach there looks great and is very romantic. I don't believe in any ancient
sayings but went for the view. The canal itself was a little bit overrated but
if I can go back in time, I would still go there even after knowing what it's
like.
Be careful with the
stairs to the beach - it's old and not well maintained so a bit risky.
Kerkira (Corfu) - the capital
It was not very close to
where we slept, but the visit was worth it.
They have those sweet
tiny streets typical for the Italian cities, many souvenir shops as well as
restaurants. Also - nice sights to visit and again - great views!
Amazing beaches
I slept in the South of
the island so mainly visited the beaches around the hotel - up to half an hour
drive approximately. I'm very happy with Marathias beach and the bars there as
well as with the Agios Gordos beach so would totally recommend.
Any questions/ comments
- I'm at your disposal, feel free to ask anything about this marvelous place!

Elle
